  I am so excited about my shoot i keep literally getting an adrenaline! I have been to see it on Wednesday with Annabel and e have some great locations, I have checked the weather forecast and through till like 7pm it is meant to be sunny so fingers crossed for that!

  I have finished off 4 more dresses  this week, I have also made 3 basques & all my head dresses and hair pieces.  I had a meeting on bank holiday Monday with  the hair and make up lady and have decided on our looks, it is all very natural and girly which is nice for the shoot.  The florist had some amazing ideas for flowers too that fit really nicely with the colour scheme and head pieces/ basques etc.

  I have had to buy more flowers and haberdashery this week in order to finish all the garments off.  I am really looking forward to the shoot and will blog a post separately for the shoot.

29th April - 5th May

This week was a great week for me, i handed in all my PPD work on the Monday! Getting one subject out the way before the rest was a good feeling! I think i should have done a lot better than previous PPD marks. I got really into this subject and enjoyed creating a viable business it was fun.

  I had my presentation for FRASSY on monday as well, I used this as an opportunity to get feedback on my website, i feel like this was really helpful, it has made me make some minor adjustments to my site.  I am really looking forward to getting my shoot done on the 12th and having an image on the homepage from my own collection.

  I have got a lot of work done this week, I have really started with my collection and have managed to get 3 full outfits finished bar button holes & buttons.  I will do all of them next week with julie.  I think I will be able to finish all my work before my shoot due to everything being from the same patterns.  This has really helped me to keep a concise collection.
 
  I have managed to get my venue booked this week... RUDDING PARK!
I am really excited about the venue and just need to confirm everything else i.e., photographers, models etc.  One model has already cancelled on me before Rudding confirmed this was very frustrating.

  I have an appointment next wednesday with Chris to show me round the venue and get a feel of the location and get some shoots in my mind.

22nd - 28th april

this week i have finished off my ppd work as it is hand in date next week.  i feel really proud of my work for ppd this term i have put a lot of time and effort into this project.  i am really proud of the work i have produced and i feel like i know so much more about setting up a business and how i will afford things and budget for stock now, it has really helped.

I have finished two more pairs of trousers this week, i am really pleased with the progression of my collection. i have now finished my first outfit and have a pair of trousers for another i aim for next week to have a second outfit finished and feel like i will be able to work from home a few days as i have had my sewing machine fixed last week, this makes me feel alot happier with the deadlines.  i think i will focus on finishing off my wrl folder on an evening, i dont have that much to do for it, i just have the fashion show roles to fill in.

I am getting really excited for my wrl hand in and my collection to be finished, i cant believe how quickly this year has gone! it is very scary but i am excited, i have found out about exhibiting my collection at the great yorkshire show aswell so that will be really fun! i am, hoping exhibiting here i can get some flyers set up and be able to offer a discount code on them, this will mean i will get more followers, and more people from all over the country being able to look at my site.

15th - 21st april

I have really enjoyed being back at uni this week, i have made my first shirt, and finished my ppd folder.

i have discussed with dave what i need to do and i need to just organise my tasks and get a smaller business folder set up.  i am really pleased with my progress through ppd and my organisation i am hoping that this improvement will reflect in my grade.

My shirt is looking really cute i had to edit my collar as annabel wanted me to make my lace trim in the collar frilly instead of straight. it does look nicer now i have redone it and i am really glad that annabel was able to help me with attaching my collar and cuffs, i feel like it will be easier for me to get on with the res of my shirts, i think after my next one i will of got the hang of the techniques of shirt making.

I have sorted out my images for my PPD presentation this week.  i need to do my reflection essay but other than that my wrl and ppd folders are nearly done.

i have started getting nervous about doing my cad flats for my technical file, however most of my collection is the same so i should be able to get my flats done quite quickly once i get a basic shape.

Easter break

  Over easter i have focussed on literally getting all of my paper work done for PPD and WRL. i have also organised my paper work for my technical file.

  My PPd file i have been going through task by task and i have managed to get to task8, i am really pleased with my progress with ppd and the fact that this term i have managed to stay focussed and actually meet my personal goals of finishing work and organising myself and my time better.

  my wrl i have also organised my work and started looking at my role with in the fashion show. i am going to be incharge of the invited to press, media and schools.  I am looking forward to getting the flyers/tickets and venue sorted.

i have got large envelopes with all my technical patterns in, i will add to them as and when i am making the pieces

25th march- 31st march

I have chose my fabric this week, i have actually chose some cotton material that is used in bed spreads for my floral print shirt dresses and trousers, i have also chose a pastel cotton englaise for the individual shirt tops.  i have picked a lovely bright pink lace for an over dress and a pair of trousers.

i have been working on my ppd usp and i have decided on my slogan: exuberant fashion for the fresh and the sassy, this links with my brand     Frassy!

I have been working on my website on wix and i am really excited to launch it in june now. I fee like i have the look set up but i am nervous about adding products. i am nervous because it is quite difficult to add products and i would not want to put any wrong info on, i want it to be really professional and i am nervous of messing something up.

11th march-24th march

This week I have been looking at toiles for my collars and cuffs.  I have decided that I just want to use a cuff that will slide on and off the arm, something i find is that some shirts are too tight on the cuffs.  i have been looking at my WRL and have been really enjoying again looking at promotional material that i can use for my company and continue to use once i have left uni in june.

my ppd file is getting full, i have done lots of research for websites and business branding. i have really enjoyed this week looking and developing my USP.  

i have looked at many different logos and different usp lines, i feel as if i am getting close to a line to use as my brand slogan.

4th march- 10th march

this week i have finished off my blocks, i am really pleased with the toiles for my shirts and my trousers, i still need to do a toile for my lace trousers.
i am really excited about my collection and i am going to go and choose my material from Bombay stores next week.

I have started working on my PPD website. i have started looking at branding and i am loving the new direction i have started with comparing with my last years business cards and branding.  this years i think are more clean fresh, sassy.

25th Feb- 3rd March

I have continued to work on my research for my PPD.  I feel like i have got really excited about my company now, and i am loving working on this subject seen as i am hoping to actually set it up after unis finished.

  i am wanting to set up my company in June and think that i will need to do my surveys and look at costs soon to start figuring out how much money i will need to set it up.

  I have decided on a final collection, i really like it, it is romantic, flirty, and really spring summer.  it is feminine and has delicate florals mixed with lace trims and delicate cotton shirts.

11th-17th February

I have spent a lot of time this week in bed due to being poorly, i have been focussing all my time on getting written work finished off so that when I am back after half term with more of my work finished off.

i feel like i have not done the best in PPD over the years but i now feel like to try and get the best grade possible i need to put more effort in to my PPD work. I do struggle with it as i do find the subject all in all quite irrelevant to the degree and if not irrelevant just far too much work for a subject that is not as important as making and designing the clothes.

I am really looking forward to making my garments, and i am enjoying doing my toils, i am worried about making my toiles and not having enough time to embellish before the show.

21st - 27th January

Monday- uni was cancelled due to snow.
Tuesday- went through my finished collection. Decided that my 6th outfit was not suitable.
No.6 was too similar to one of the other designs, so I have produced other ideas. Annabel wanted me to come up with a lace over dress!
I looked at different styles and went for a full skirt midi dress in the floral print and have a full length lace v neck low back lace over dress !

I need to find a nice elasticated pink lace. I think something like a knicker trim material will be good! I will go to Bombay stores in bradford to find my material!
I also need to buy more of my floral print for my min outfits.

I found a beautiful pastel green cotton fabric for a shirt, collars, cuffs and waspy!
I'm really excited to get on and start making my pieces.

The rest of the week I spent doing illustrations of my final collection.

I also had a dissertation meeting, I need to work on my introduction, and my chapters for my dissertation. I am struggling with this as I feel like it is hard to prioritise over my FMP but I need to make time for my Diss and organise my time better.

14th - 20th January

This week I have spent focussing on my FMP and Dissertation.

FMP
So my final major project I have worked on building my sketchbook and organising all my new samples into my appropriate research. I have enjoyed doing this as I feel like my designs are working really well and linking together.
The other thing I have been doing with my sketchbook is doing further developments. I had designs chosen by Annabel before I left for Christmas so I started looking into making my designs more detailed and thinking about how the garments would work. It did mean i simplified some of my designs but I do think with the floral, paint and pastel trend running through my collection I can get away with having some more simpler designs.
I had not got a final op outfit chosen for my collection when I left and looking through my designs I really wanted a nice simple day dress. I wanted this because I kept thinking of designs like DVF who made her simple wrap dress a iconic statement and a dress that could be worn as an elegant piece or as a classy day look. I think that I really nice pattern could make the dress look really timeless and think it would be a good central piece to build all my other outfits off on the catwalk.
I think it will work well with the other outfits :)

Dissertation
My dissertation has been really getting to me over the holidays, I must have re done my proposal 500 times. I have re done my proposal this week and is HOPEFULLY a final attempt!
I changed my question a couple of weeks ago, then I decided to change the aim and a few things around. The main thing for me was looking at the presentation and my grammar. I feel like I have made a big effort to correct this and I am happy with the end result. Next week I have a meeting with the learning mentor, and a meeting with Heidi to go over my dissertation. I have spent a lot of time planning and structuring how I want my diss to be. I can not start writing it properly until I feel I have a clear structure and direction for the essay. I'm hoping that what I have worked on this week and began to get a structure in place will be okayed by both mentor and tutor and then I can begin drafting it out. I am really worried about my lit review and my Harvard referencing. Something I want to go over in my meetings.

7th - 13th January

This week I handed in my PPD. I felt like I had worked hard on my sketchbook as I did feel confused with the brief and do not really understand re doing the whole business card thing for a 3rd year but however I did make some nice marketing things and I think I produced a good sketchbook that was well laid out and easy to understand.

As well as handing in my PPD this week was a brilliant week for my FMP.
I did samples of paint splashed fabric. I did only use watercolour and I do love that because it gives a really delicate pastel sort of effect on the fabric, however I understand this owls not be practical if you wanted to wash the garment because it would wash off. So when I am back at uni and have a larger work space I will use acrylic paint watered down but when acrylic dries on fabric it is meant to be permanent, however I am dubious because like I said I would be watering it down to get the effect I want. I don't want to be using thick paint and essentially leaving blobs on the fabric but be putting delicate splashes into the material.

I have practiced the effect on some Devore, some lighter sheen fabric and some cotton which I will probably use on some of my outfits.
I have also practiced cuffs. I have really liked the elastic aged cuffs and using a delicate cuff with maybe some lace of netting trim on, I don't want to use a conventional cuff that is found on most shirts, I think it is nice to have a trim that coordinates with the collar but is not a big cuff like on a traditional shirt.

31st-6th January

This week i have been working on my PPD in order to hand in next week. 

I have put all my research in to a sketchbook and started annotate my work i plan on finishing this by the end of the week.

i am really pleased wth my work for PPD and i think i have found a really good base to start my professional identity.

i am pleased with the look of my work and the font. 

i am going to hand my work in and carry on with my dissertation work. I have 3 weeks to get a first draft of my dissertation done now, and also i need to work on my FMP.

i feel like i have a lot more time to do it though as i have quite my job to help with my studies. I am however hoping that my loan comes on time as i will not be able to get to college till my loans in!

i like the idea of using elastic as it gives a nice rooshing effect and will look nice on sheer fabrics

24th- 30th December

Being honest this week i have not really done too much. I have collated a lot of research work for my PPD sketchbook and also have been printing and collecting images for my FMP.

i have been looking at pastels and paint.

i really like pastels, they are feminine and pretty. the idea of the paint is also fun because it means i can essentially make my own fabric patterns

i also had an idea to make a video for my show. 

i would like to have close ups of my shirts/dresses and have beautiful women wearing them looking really posh, then one woman in my finale  dress rip off her  necklace and  start dancing whilst being splattered with paint!!

i would like this to then coincide with the catwalk show and have my finale piece walk down as the video showed the dress being splattered. i think it would create a really good dramatic effect and maybe even could pause for a moment before bringing out the finale dress. I would love to do this and want to start looking for some film students and models who would be willing to help me out!

17th-23rd December

Monday- today i have had a FMP meeting with annabel and julie. i am pleased with how it went because i have got 5 final designs out of 6.  i am pleased with the work i handed in for WRL.
i love the dress that i did for Trish... i am glad that i did the dress but i did find it a lot of work on top of trying to do my PPD.

Tuesday- With my PPD work i have spoke to Dave and had a deadline extended due to being behind on a lot of my work. i have to get my work in for the first week of january and i am stressed about it because i have a lot of dissertation work to do and also have to get my FMP sketchbook finished.
